Nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert Testing

Nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert Testing
The National EAS and WEA test has been postponed to the backup date of October 3, 2018, beginning at 1:18 PM. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has postponed the test date due to the ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence. FEMA will issue a Nationwide Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA), testing the Presidential WEA capabilities. The test message will be available to all compatible cell phones. Please note, some older cell phones may not receive the test message. The nationwide WEA test will be followed by a nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) test approximately 2 minutes after the WEA is issued.
