NWEA/MAP

NWEA MAP Growth is a computer-adaptive assessment provided by Zion 6. All K-8 Zion 6 students, with the exception of students in the Life Skills Program, take MAP reading and MAP math at three points in the school year. Additionally, seventh and eighth-grade students take MAP science three times per year.

During the MAP assessment, students Common Core skill levels are measured. Individualized student skills reports are produced based on each student’s results. Additionally, student results are compared with student results across the United States, giving students and teachers a unique picture of how each student, class, and school compares with their counterparts across the nation.

Teachers and administrators can access a variety of group reports measuring student growth and proficiency. The results of the MAP assessments are available within 24 hours. Teachers and school leaders use the information provided by MAP Growth to adjust content and build individualized learning experiences tailored to meet the specific needs of their students.

Over time, the results of the MAP assessment provide a picture of how students are growing in the skills aligned with the Common Core, as well as the New Illinois Learning Standards Incorporating the Common Core.
