Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC)

What is BPAC?

The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) supports the learning community of Zion Elementary School District 6. This is done by representing the interests and needs of students in the bilingual, dual language, and English learners programs.

As per the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) rules, "BPAC is a committee that is required for districts that have a Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) program." BPAC consists of bilingual program parents, guardians, TBE teachers, counselors, and community leaders and shall give the district recommendations for improving any TBE programs.

The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee will:

1. Meet at least four times per school year.
2. Keep meeting minutes.
3. Receive training from the district.
4. Participate in planning, evaluation, and operation of TBE programs.
